Girls Hockey

Medfield Youth Hockey (MYH) provides girls of varying ages and abilities the opportunity to learn and develop skills to play competitive hockey, with an emphasis on teamwork and fun.  We welcome girls from surrounding towns to join our program!

The 2025-2026 season will offer a standard Girls U8 Team (birth years 2017 and under) with a full ~15 game season in the Greater Boston Girls Hockey League, with 1-2 weekly practices and biweekly skills sessions. Practices are out of Norfolk Arena, with games primarily at Reilly Rink (Allston-Brighton) and Bajko Rink (Hyde Park). This is a cross-ice game format, great for early hockey development.

The program will also offer a standard Girls U10 Team (birth years 2015 & 2016) with a typical ~25 game season plus playoffs, with 1-2 practices per week and biweekly skills sessions. This team is part of the Middlesex Yankee Conference Girls Hockey League.

For the first time, we are also offering a standard Girls U12 Team (birth years 2013 & 2014) with a typical ~25 game season plus playoffs, with 1-2 practices per week and biweekly skills sessions. This team is part of the Middlesex Yankee Conference Girls Hockey League.

What is the format of the Girls Teams?

U8 Team:

• One team of approximately 8-12 players
• Games are played in a 4v4 cross-ice format, plus a goalie
• All skill levels welcome, tuition discount provided to full-time goalies

U10 Team:

• One team of approximately 10-15 players 
• Games are played in a 5v5 full ice format, plus a goalie
• All skill levels welcome, tuition discount provided to full-time goalies

U12 Team:

• One team of approximately 10-15 players 
• Games are played in a 5v5 full ice format, plus a goalie
• All skill levels welcome, tuition discount provided to full-time goalies

Are there tryouts?

No, there are no tryouts or team placements for either team, just the required USA Hockey and MYH registration, plus registration cost.



What is the tuition cost?

• U8 Team: $1,600
• Tuition can be paid in full or in installments as follows:
• Season Deposit due at time of registration: $200
• May 1: $350
• June 1: $350
• July 1: $350
• August 1: $350
• For families with more than one player or a player on more than one MYH team, a $250 discount is available at registration ($1,350 total)
• U10/U12 Team: $2,050
• Tuition can be paid in full or in installments as follows:
• Season Deposit due at time of registration: $250
• May 1: $450
• June 1: $450
• July 1: $450
• August 1: $450
• For families with more than one player or a player on more than one MYH team, a $250 discount is available at registration ($1,800 total)
• Full-Time Goalies: $350 total, due at time of registration

Can players from other towns join the teams?

Yes! All Medfield Youth Hockey teams welcome players from our neighboring towns!

Are there any other Girls Hockey events?

Yes, the 'Medfield Girls Stick Together' program offers fun one-time events such as hockey clinics and game watches with the Medfield High School Girls Varsity and/or Middle School Girls Hockey players and coaches, and is open to all levels of girls hockey players, ages 5-12. Additional fees may apply.
